The easiest way to enjoy a cuppa, the Coffee Plunger is otherwise known as a French Press, Press Pot, or simply plunger. Characteristics of this method of brewing is that it captures more of the coffee flavour and essential oils as a result of the coffee grounds being in direct contact with water (recommended temperature of not higher than 95°C). The resulting coffee is usually stronger and richer. Best with location-specific coffees, coffee plungers tend to better extricate the flavours and aromas better, compared to the automated ones which are usually recommended for Espresso based coffees.

The Syphon brewing method utilizes a natural vacuum effect produced in two glass globes fitted together in an airtight seal to extract coffee through a filter. Advocates of the method claim that it produces the best tasting coffee in a most unique and satisfying manner perfect for the true connoisseur’s coffee indulgence. Suzuki Coffee recommends strictly location-specific coffees for the Syphon.

The Filter Coffee Maker is the most prevalent form of coffee making machine found in homes. This is because the filter method is simple to use and efficient. In the machine, a filter is placed in a plastic cone-shaped holder. Ideal for medium to fine ground coffee, hot water is dripped into the holder. The coffee from the Filter Coffee Maker has a clear flavour with minimum oils and sediment.
