The common coffee tree belongs to the genus, Coffea, which consists of about 25 species. The most cultivated coffea being the Coffea Arabica but other commercially known coffea are Coffea Liberica, Coffea Excelsa, and Coffea Canephora (Robusta). By far, Coffea Arabica and Coffea Robusta are the species of coffee plant most commonly cultivated.
There are other species of coffee plants which are not cultivated commercially. These are indoor coffee plants grown for aesthetics. Where carefully cared for, the plant can do well indoors.
