123 Gititu Nyeri NH

From the renowned coffee-growing region of Nyeri, nestled in the foothills of Mount Kenya, Gititu Nyeri NH showcases a distinctive expression of Kenyan coffee. Grown in rich volcanic soils at elevations of 1,600–1,850 metres, this lot comes from Gititu Factory, operated by Aguthi Farmers Cooperative Society, which represents over a thousand smallholder farmers.

Carefully selected ripe cherries are dried whole on raised beds over several weeks, allowing the fruit to develop depth and sweetness. Unlike the bright citrus character commonly associated with washed Kenyan coffees, this natural lot reveals a luscious profile of blueberry compote and Cara Cara orange, complemented by delicate hibiscus florals. The result is a vibrant, fruit-forward cup with layered sweetness and a beautifully balanced finish.

Produced by a well-established cooperative with strong smallholder participation, this coffee reflects the dedication of Kenya’s farming communities and the distinctive character of Nyeri’s high-altitude terroir.
